It's a healthy, little girl! I pretty much burst into tears when they told us. I just cannot believe this is real like. She is squirmy and was flipping and flopping the whole time -- as usual. At one point the ultrasound tech said we might want to consider a future in gymnastics because she would not say still.
There is no doubt it is a girl since every time they tried to look at another part of the body she would flip back over and show us her butt with legs spread. The ultrasound tech said "don't let anyone scare you with tales of being told it was a girl and then they have a boy because this is definitely a girl." LOL.
The MFM looked at her heart, brain, spine, legs, arms, bladder, kidneys and all are perfect. The placenta looks great and my cervix was above average in length so she is nice and snug in there for the long haul.
The only thing the MFM saw was a small white spot on her heart that she said, if combined with other things, could be a marker for Down's. She said since we don't have any other markers she is not worried about it. She said in the past they didn't even tell people about it but now people google it and freak themselves out so they have to tell me. She flat out said "I do not think your baby has downs" and said she would not recommend doing anything like an amnio. She anticipates it will resolve itself by our next scan. So, if the MFM isn't worried, I am choosing not to worry.
What an amazing day. I cannot stop smiling from ear to ear. A little girl. DH literally jumped out of his seat when she told us. He is really excited. I am extremely grateful to be here today and to have a healthy baby.
