The Neglectful Blogger -- 21weeks

So it seems like life have been crazy these past few weeks.  As a result I have completely neglected all of my internet friends -- SAIF, TB, and this blog.  So, I have some catching up to do.

My little sister came to visit me last week and we had a blast.  She is 8 years younger so we have always had a hard time really connecting because we were at such different places in our lives.  But she just graduated college and has a full time job now and is living with her long time boyfriend.  So, for once our lives are more similar than different.  It was such a fun visit and I really needed that break.

I can feel Baby Madison all the time now.  It is so crazy how much she kicks and moves.  At my a/s with the OB the other day we got a nice video of her punching me with both fists at once.  Nice, little one.  I think she is going through a growth spurt because I have been super exhausted this week.  Other than the exhaustion I have been feeling pretty good.  I have my glucose test next month which I am dreading.

I think my mom could tell I was really struggling with not fitting into my clothes because she sent me a little money and a nice note to spend it on clothes for me.  I got a few maternity clothes that have helped me feel more like myself.  I even got some maternity underwear!  There is nothing worse that feeling like your underwear don't fit.

I haven't done one of these in a while so here is it is:

Baby is the size of a pomegranate!

How far along: 21w5d

Physical symptoms: So tired.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I am not going to answer this any more.  I am trying not to focus on the numbers but rather am working on being healthy.

Maternity clothes: Absolutely.

Stretch marks: Actually, no.

Sleep: It is getting better.  I am starting to get used to sleeping in a way that accommodates my belly which is good.

Best moment last couple of weeks. Seeing her at the anatomy scan on Tuesday.

Movement: All. The. Time.  She is quite the wiggle worm.

Food cravings: Red meat.  Mainly burgers.  It is kind of funny because I am not really a beef eater but all I want anymore is a hamburger.

Gender: It's a GIRL!  Baby Madison.

Labor signs: Thankfully not.

Belly button: Same as always.

What I miss: My energy.

What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery set up.  The painters come Saturday!  Woo hoo!

Milestones: I am more than half way there!

  1. Oh hello Baby Madison! I love the u/s pic! Is it bad that I LOL'd at you getting to see Madison punching you? It's pretty neat to think of actually seeing what she is doing in there!

How sweet of your mom to send you some maternity clothes money, I am sure it feels better to be more comfortable in your clothes. I really like the idea of you not putting your weight gain in your check in. I get that it's important not to gain too little or too much but just being healthy and not focusing on the actual number is the best thing :)

I hope your glucose test goes well!
